Your Questions, Answered

  • Not at all. Melting Plot is an English-speaking space, meaning conversations happen in English but there's no level required. Whether you're fluent or a little rusty, you're welcome. The point is connection, not performance.

  • Yes, and most people do. Melting Plot was designed for that. A host will be there everytime to welcome you and make sure no one's left standing in a corner. Coming solo is actually the best way to meet people.

  • It depends on the event. Some editions are pure chill : a great venue, good vibes, and the space to chat freely. Others come with a little something to break the ice (a game, an activity); but always optional, never forced. If activities are planned, it will be mentioned in the event description. When in doubt: expect a relaxed afterwork where the only goal is to have a good time.

  • Your ticket covers access to the event and the privatisation of the venue. Drinks are at your own expense at the bar, unless stated otherwise in the event description (some editions have included welcome drinks or shared snacks).

Organising these events : privatising a venue, setting up the space, handling logistics; has a real cost. The ticket fee is what makes it possible to create a dedicated, comfortable space for the community, rather than just showing up at a random bar.

  • Nope. Melting Plot welcomes expats, locals, internationals, people who've been in Paris for years, and people who just landed last week. If you're curious, open-minded, and want to meet people outside your usual circle, you're exactly who this is for.

  • Melting Plot attracts mostly young professionals : people in their mid-20s to late 30s who are curious, sociable, and looking to expand their circle beyond their usual work or expat bubble.

You won't find a strict door policy based on age, but that's genuinely the crowd that shows up. If that sounds like you, you'll fit right in.
